Yes, finally we have Ercol in our house I think it's a 'Windsor Occasional Grandfather Chair' and definitely our best charity shop find yet. It's not quite the Ercol daybed I was hoping for but after some TLC and some new cushions covered in a suitably beautiful fabric I think it will be amazing.

Well everyone has disappeared back to work or school here it's just me in my studio which is always a little lonely after a holiday especially the hustle and bustle of the Christmas break.
It's made a lot easier now that I have my trusty studio mate she's 9 months old now, a brilliant family dog and to be honest we can't imagine life without her.
I'm planning lots of new prints and projects this year and also hopefully going to produce my first larger scale screen prints and I'll be posting my progress here as I go.

I found this Deer Figurine sometime ago in a second hand shop.
I've seen lots of wooden deer figurines around but this is one of the most striking and no matter what position it is placed in it looks beautiful.
I know very little about it except it is marked 'handmade in Norway' underneath the plinth that the deer stands on, I'd love to find out more about it so if you have seen one before or know anything of it's history please let me know.

I've been so busy over the last few weeks printing and packing up stock for my gallery stockists I think they must be already preparing for the Christmas period which seems to be approaching so quickly this year.
There's a lull in activity for a few days so just time to post my new print.
'Winter Ptarmigan' is based on 2 Ptarmigan, a small game bird found in the highest mountains of the Scottish Highlands, in winter they lose their grey and brown feathers and become totally white. Available in Silver and Turquoise.

The Royal Exchange Craft Shop is situated within the Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester and I often used to visit many years ago when I worked in Manchester myself, they sell some beautiful handmade gifts so I was really excited and flattered when they asked me to be part of their summer exhibition this year.
'Angels of the Garden' is running from 6th July - 7th August.
The people there are really friendly and were even nice enough to send me a photograph of my prints in situ.

I received a beautiful bouquet recently that included some gorgeous Protea flowers, I left them in a vase on the window sill for sometime and all the other flowers wilted and died the Proteas however have dried out and I think improved with age especially the muted colours.

It was very much inspired by some of the beautiful felt craft I've seen on Etsy lately
including, Remadeshop, Seventy Seventy One and my own favourite Lupin.

I was thinking of opening a Big Cartel shop and whilst doing a bit of research came across Wooden Donkey they have some great vintage buys including these lovely coasters they also have an Etsy shop and a great blog.
Back to Big Cartel - Can't quite make up my mind which price branding of shop to go for the 1st is free and the other 2 have a fee but more web facilities, if anyone out there already sells on there I'd welcome any advice also any comparisons to the other online markets would be really helpful.

London - Short Break

Just got back from a short break in London we tried to cram in as much as possible but the highlight for me was definitely the Victoria and Albert Museum including tea and scones in the beautiful courtyard. Shown here is Dale Chihuly's glass Chandelier which hangs in the main foyer.
Will definitely be going back and spending some more time there as I feel we only touched the surface of what is truly an amazing place.
